2017 DX AmeriCup Schedule


February 23, 2017

NEW:  All events take place at the Minneapolis Convention Center with the exception of Friday night's "Purple Party".

THURSDAY

2 pm - 11 pm  /  REGISTRATION/INFO BOOTH OPENS at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium Lobby   Coaches check-in once with DX to collect updated competition information, program books, gifts, and more. Plan on bringing a helper if your team pre-ordered event crews.

2 pm - 9 pm /  STORE OPEN at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. - Auditorium Lobby   Bring spending money and check-out the vendor booths.

NEW - 5 pm - 8:30 pm  /  ALL AMERICAN SOLO PRESENTATIONS in the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Ballroom   Candidates perform in front of a live audience while being judged. Finalists will be posted Saturday. Winners recognized Saturday during the Awards Banquet.

8 pm - 9:30 pm  /  "PURPLE PARTY" at the Hilton Minneapolis in the Marquette (2nd floor)   Dig out your purple gear and get ready for the DX Purple Party. This social mixer is FREE for all registered dancers and coaches. Tickets may be purchased for guests. This evening includes food, fun, dancing, and contests for best purple attire. There will be dance-offs and tons of party games. Come ready to dance the night away with great music, snacks, and contests throughout the evening. The DX Purple Party is a fantastic way to kick-off your AmeriCup weekend. All those planning on attending must pre-register for this event. DX needs a head count to ensure we have enough food on hand. Don't miss it.


February 24, 2017

FRIDAY

7 am - 10 pm /  REG/INFO BOOTH OPEN at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditoirum Lobby    Coaches check-in once with DX to collect updated competition information, program books, gifts, and more. Plan on bringing a helper if your team pre-ordered event crews. YOU ONLY NEED TO REGISTER ONCE!

8 am - 10 pm /  STORE OPEN at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. - Auditorium Lobby   Bring spending money and check-out the vendor booths.

8 am - 12 pm  /  ALL AMERICAN INTERVIEWS  in the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. (203 A)  Candidates sit down with two judges for a private interview.

9 am - 12 pm /  PERFORMER of the YEAR SOLO PRESENTATIONS in the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Ballroom Candidates perform in front of a live audience while being judged. Finalists will be posted on Saturday. Winners recognized Saturday during the Awards Banquet and will perform their award winning routine later that evening.

NEW - 12:30pm - 1 :30 pm /  COACH BRIEFING on Team Competition, Banquet, THE ONE Finals, World Bids, and Showcase at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr.  (Auditorium Pod #3)  One coach from every organization is required to attend this mandatory meeting. Important team competition details, , finalists attending banquet, The One Finals, Worlds Bids and the Worlds Showcase details will be discussed. Plan on having someone in attendance if a coach is not available. 

NEW - 3 pm - 10:30 pm  /  TEAM COMPETITION, AWARDS & RING PICK-UP at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium   Get ready for amazing performances. Teams should arrive no later than twelve noon [12:00 PM] in order to adequately prepare themselves for competition.


February 25, 2017

SATURDAY

6 am - 6 pm  /  INFO BOOTH OPEN at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. - Auditorium Lobby  

6 am - 6 pm /  STORE OPEN at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. - Auditorium Lobby  

7 am - 8:30 am /  DANCE TEAM CHALLENGE at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr.  AuditoriumTwo to five person groups perform in front of a live audience. A one and a half minute [1:30] maximum time limit strictly enforced. There is no minimum time requirement.

8:30 am - 9:30 am /  JUMP, LEAP, KICK, and TURN SUPER STAR INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium   Individuals will perform skills required for specific category in front of a live audience, while being judged.

9:45 am - 10:30 am / AWARDS for Dance Team Challenge & Super Star events at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium   All candidates from both events should be on stage.

11 am - 6:30 pm  /  TEAM COMPETITION, AWARDS & RING PICK-UP at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium   More exciting team competition takes place. All division winners are Grand Champs for that specific event and will receive official DX Champion rings! Did you know that all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners also earn a bid to THE ONE Finals? You pick the city you want to compete at for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

7 pm (Doors Open)

7:30 pm - 9 pm  /  AWARDS BANQUET at the Mpls. Convention Ctr. Ballroom "A"   You won't want to miss the Semi-Formal Awards Banquet on Saturday evening. Attendees walk the red-carpet dressed in their finest attire. Wear your shades to avoid the paparazzi's camera flashes. Stop for a brief interview with official DX correspondents. Come hungry for a special dinner prepared just for you. The evening promises great entertainment, and exciting awards. Seats are limited, so reserve your tickets today. All American and Performer of the Year candidates are required to attend.

9 pm - 10 pm  /  CELEBRATION DANCE at the Mpls. Convention Ctr. Ballroom "B"   Dancers and guests let loose during the fabulous Celebration Dance that takes place immediately following the Awards Banquet. Prize giveaways, song requests, and dance contests await. Come celebrate with us.


February 26, 2017

SUNDAY

8 am - 3:30 pm/  TEAM COMPETITION, AWARDS & RING PICK-UP at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium   More exciting team competition takes place. All division winners are Grand Champs for that specific event and will receive official DX Champion rings! Did you know that all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners also earn a bid to THE ONE Finals? 4 pm/  USASF DANCE WORLDS Bid Announcement at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr. Auditorium All dancers vying for a Worlds Bid should be on stage for the announcement in team gear.

5 pm/   "SHOWCASE of CHAMPIONS" at the Mpls. Conv. Ctr AuditoriumStay seated for special performances from all Worlds qualifiers and the highest scoring routine in each age category.

7 pm / Event Concludes


2016 schedule

WEATHER ... The event will go on rain or shine. Forecast calls for possible snow. Minneapolis is not predicting a major snow storm. Refunds will not be given for no shows.

TICKETS may be purchased at the event in the main lobby at the DX ticket booth. There are a lot of events taking place during the weekend. Make sure you purchase tickets to the right show!

  • ADULT Fan Band - $40 - good Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • STUDENT Fan Band (18 & younger) - $20 - good Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • FIVE (5) and under - FREE
  • SINGLE DAY TICKET - $20 for all

HOTEL Check-in directly at your assigned hotel property. All room & tax have been paid in full. Cancellations are non-refundable.

GUEST & TEAM REGISTRATION All pre-ordered fan bands, event crew necks, and team registration takes place at the Mpls. Conv.Ctr. in front of the Auditorium lobby. Look for DX Information booth.
