MEET THE 3D FACULTY
Charleigh has been involved with the 3D Convention since it's inception and is the featured choreographer for the 3D Xtreme Team. Charleigh was introduced to dance at the age of three. Two years later, she began competing which fostered her desire ot pursue a career as a professional dancer. In high school, Ms. France joined the San Jose Ballet School. Later, she attended San Diego State School of Music and Dance earning a place in their dance department. As a member, Charleigh had the opportunity to take advantage of national and international instruction, such as: traveling to Poland for the World Dance Festival, a summer intensive at Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, and master classes at Julliard. After relocating to Las Vegas, she was hired for a role with Cirque du Soleil and as a cast member of "Jubilee." Charleigh has choreographed for and performed with Barcelo Resorts and CoCo Bongo in Mexico. During this time, she was recognized by recording artists Ciara, Christina Aguilera, and Busta Rhymes. She has performed in music videos for recording artist LaMont Wheat and as a principle dancer with Twisted Movement Dance Co. Ms. France works with numerous programs across the USA teaching choreography and technique to enhance routines. She has been an adjudicator for numerous event producers including DX Events, USASF Dance Worlds, and has had the opportunity to work with Team Australia. Charleigh's career recently brought her back to California, where she is currently performing, choreographing, directing, and teaching. She has continued to share her love for dance with dancers of all ages in San Diego and Northern California, where her choreography has won multiple awards.
A dancer from the age of 3, Lindsey moved to Southern California to pursue her dance career. Through her time there, she was lucky enough to work with Beyonce, Lil’ Wayne, Kat Graham, Savion Glover, Neil Patrick Harris, and Charlie Sheen. She was requested to train Charlie for his dance scene in the Roman Coppola film “A Glimpse in the Mind of Charles Swan the III,” in which she also appeared onscreen as a dancer and actress. Recently, she did motion capture for a new DreamWorks film yet to be released. She has been a part of the Olympics, Grammy’s, and Latin Grammy’s, and was top 35 on So You Think You Can Dance season 6. Lindsey has appeared on TV shows including America’s Got Talent, First Look LA, Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, Oxygen channel's All About Aubrey, and KTLA News. Commercial credits include Old Navy, SENSA, and Salon Pas, with industrials for NIKE, Facebook, Sony, Amway, Sexy Hair Co., and Oakley Sunglasses. She has performed and taught internationally in places like Costa Rica, Guam, Canada, and the Bahamas, and has also performed for the Saudi Arabian royal family. Lindsey helped train a troupe of Chinese acrobats and was assistant choreographer and dance captain for SandCastle Entertainment’s “The Dream” overseas. Her company credits include Terry Beeman’s Dance Co. as a dancer and aerialist, Joelle Martinec’s SoleVita Dance Co., and RhetOracle Dance Company. Most recently, Lindsey founded and created PERSpectives Dance Company, a contemporary dance company based in the Bay Area, and has received choreography awards for her work.

Eddy Kovac has dedicated his entire life to his dance training and doing everything possible to further the education of others in dance including owning and operating his own dance school in New Mexico. Owner of Rip The Floor and focusing on tap and hip hop genres are his style preferences. His tireless ambition has made him one of the
foremost experts in his field. Mr. Kovac has traveled to Bangkok Thailand to tour with
Warner Brothers, worked on commercials for diet coke, assisted with choreography
preparation for movies and videos, toured with hip hop artists and has assisted in developing new recording artists. He has helped to produce dancers that have gone on to tour with Aaron Carter and appeared in videos with Brittany Spears and Ice Cube. His
students have received lead roles in Broadway shows. He specializes in and has mastered the art of robotics, popping, locking, ticking, and floor work. He also holds black belts in two martial arts and adds this to his choreography. Eddy has taught across the United States including the Academy of Dance in San Luis Obispo where he trained in Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, and Tap with a strong focus on Balletas well as master classes at Cal Poly University SLO, most of the schools in the Central Coast area and Dance in Action in California. He has an extensive back ground in the fitness industry; he was one of the first people to teach "Cardio Funk" in the United States and was a member of team Reebok in the early 1990s. Mr. Kovac served as the Artistic Director for The Gandy Dancer Studio in Louisville, CO where he worked with the CU Express at The University of Colorado Boulder and also taught Hip Hop and Tapat Cleo Parker Robinson's in Denver. He was named the Hip Hop Director at The Dance Center of Colorado Springs in 2003 where he gained notoriety with his cutting edge style and award winning choreography. He has won many awards at regional competitions including top choreography, most dynamic style and perfect precision. In the 8 years Eddy worked and performed professionally he was privileged to be onstage more than ten thousand times in core and lead roles. He performed with the San Luis Jazz Dancers and the Civic Ballet of San Luis Obispo where he was one of the premiere dancers in both companies. In 2007 he performed the part of Adam in New Life Church's production of "The Thorn". Eddy has also written and produce an original stage production Questa.
Dwaine Wells II is no stranger to the stage. His extensive musical theatre, pom, and jazz background make him a much sought after instructor at conventions. As an alumnus of Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and a graduate of San Diego State University’s BFA Dance program, he has over a decade of training in numerous dance techniques. He has also had the pleasure of training with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Diavolo Dance Theater, and has performed in works by Peter Kalivas, Michael Mizerany, and Jeremy Mitchell. He continues to work as a performer and choreographer both in the United States and internationally. He has recently performed on film in Waiting in the Wings, as a cast member at Disneyland, for the national tours of Hair and Sesame Street Live, and on stage for multiple shows, such as; Saturday Night Fever, La Cage Aux Folles, Footloose, Hairspray, The Addams Family, and Disney’s Little Mermaid. Mr. Wells II can also be found teaching master technique classes throughout the country. Dwaine is proud to be a member of the Dance Xtreme family. Getting the chance to call such talented peers friends and being dazzled by outstanding up and coming young artists, is a privilege that at times, leaves him speechless. Dwaine looks forward to many great performances and countless opportunities to encourage and spread dance education with this strong prestigious organization.
MISTY RASCON SMITH
Click HERE and HERE for her reels. Ms. Rascon Smith has been professionally working in the dance industry for more than fourteen years. Specializing in jazz/funk and hip hop genres, she brings amazing choreography and demands the best from each dancer. She has worked with numerous recording artists, such as; Natasha Beddingfield, Janelle Monae, Vanessa Hudgens, Kirk Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, and Daniel Powter. You may recognize her from national television commercials for, Sunkist, Pepsi, Nike, or Sears. She can also been seen in the popular Robin Sparkles episode of the CBS hit show “How I Met Your Mother” and as a dancer and body double on Nickelodeon’s “Taina.” She has danced for several award shows, including; the American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, and the Latin Grammy’s. She has appeared in print ads and as a model for Adidas, Tarbell, American Greeting Cards, Best Buy, Avery, and countless others. She is proud of her extensive dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, salsa, hip hop, and more. She feels like an innovator and has created her very own style of “Tribal Funk,” and feels that she has developed something that many describe as “a movement that impacts people through dance, music, and clothing.” As an instructor at numerous conventions and locations across the United States, including; Edge Performing Arts Center, Debbie Reynold’s, Word In Motion’s Urban Dance Festival, Groove Street, and Project Dance New York, her various styles of choreography and classes have been described as challenging, yet inspirational. Currently, Ms. Rascon Smith teaches for Dance Revolution, and is a dancer for, and directs, Word In Motion Dance Studio. Since discovering the meaning and purpose of her dancing and choreography, she is devoted to challenging and encouraging others to do the same in both life and dance.
Click HERE for his reel. Yoshi is a driven performer and choreographer who indulges in many different disciplines. He has a strong passion for contemporary based movement and a new found talent for aerial dance, all combined with his fascination for theatrics. Yoshi's ballet technique and teaching philosophy offers individual's a chance to excel when at the 3D Conventions. Born and raised in Brownsville, TX, he later continued his professional training at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where he was a ballet major and trained under Roni Koresh and Brian Sanders. His love for travel and culture led him to accept the opportunity to perform for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a dance captain and aerial coordinator, and is currently the resident Choreography Director of multiple shows for the prestigious cruise line. He continues touring internationally with the aerial acrobatics company, On the FLY, as a choreographer, dancer, and aerialist. With On the FLY, he performed on season nine of hit television show America's Got Talent and was runner-up on the second season of TruTV's Fake Off. When not traveling, Yoshi lends his expertise and knowledge to adjudicating competitions across the country.
Ms. Tarpley began dancing under the tutelage of Frances Taylor in Durango, Colorado. She continued her training nationally at Interlochen Arts Academy and internationally at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. After graduating, Mary danced with Compagnia Zappala in Sicily, Italy, before moving to Paris, France. Upon returning to the United States, Ms. Tarpley took residence on the west coast, where she danced with State Street Ballet, as a soloist for the Santa Barbara Ballet, a Principal for City Ballet of Los Angeles, and was a member of Invertigo Dance Theatre. Currently, she calls Chicago home and is a First Company member of Chicago Dance Crash, has danced for the Civic Ballet of Chicago, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Be the Groove, Dance for Life, and countless other companies. Ms. Tarpley has had the opportunity to do an extensive amount of print and video work for dance, including, Jordan Matter’s Dancers Among Us and Dancers After Dark. Mary continues to share her passion for the art of dance with the next generation of talent at numerous dance programs in the greater Chicago area, at locations, such as; Hubbard Street Youth Dance Program, as a Company Director for Lake Forest Dance Academy, and as a Ballet Mistress at On Your Toes Academy of Dance. She can also be found as a summer faculty member for Ballet Durango in Colorado, as a coach for Youth American Grand Prix, and teaching master classes around the globe. She has produced several of her own shows and her choreography has received numerous awards. Recently, Ms. Tarpley had the opportunity to teach and set choreography in Cambodia at The Central School Ballet Phnom Penh. In addition to being a highly active and respected member of the dance community, Mary recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from DePaul University, where she received dual degrees in Mathematics and Physics. Ms. Tarpley’s ballet, contemporary, and lyrical genres are always a favorite of 3D attendees.
Click HERE for her reel. Alyssa started her dance career in Minnesota, where she studied and competed in many styles of dance. She enjoys teaching all genres and working with dancers of all ages. Ms. Ness has appeared in music videos, dancewear catalogues, and dance magazines such as Dance Spirit and Inside Dance. Throughout the years, she has had the opportunity to perform with Tokyo the Company, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Capezio's 125th Anniversary Celebration hosted by Nigel Lythgoe, and with Disney. Alyssa was a past NYCDA National Senior Outstanding Dancer winner and a NYCDA College Scholarship Foundation recipient. To date, she is the only senior dancer at DX to ever earn a perfect score, including the extra bonus points where Alyssa was awarded the DX Solo Grand Champ title. Alyssa recently graduated magna cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, receiving a BFA in dance and a minor in business management. During her time in the dance program at Marymount, she had the honor of performing works choreographed by Al Blackstone, Alexandra Damiani, Jae Man Joo, Keigwin + Company, Breton Tyner-Bryan, and many more. Alyssa currently resides in NYC dancing and performing, and loves teaching and choreographing whenever possible.
Since graduating for the University of Georgia, Dan has been dancing professionally. After his time with Gotta Dance Atlanta, Mr. Gibson trained at the Joel Hall Dance Center, where he studied African, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Ballet, and Breakdancing. Upon becoming a member of Chicago’s daring fusion company, Chicago Dance Crash, his training continued with the addition of Capoeira, Acrobatics, and Contemporary. In 2007, Dan was a featured performer and choreographer with a national tour for 13th Floor Performing Arts. Once deciding to call Chicago home, Dan has performed for Culture Shock Chicago, The Seldoms, 5 Star Boogie, Elephant Filmworks, Oprah Winfrey Show, Johnny Dangerous, and Kid Sister with Kanye West. In 2012, Dan earned a position as a senior company member with Chicago Dance Crash. Dan has used his experience and knowledge to judge dance all across the United States and most recently at the Dance World’s in Orlando, Florida.
Mary grew up in the dance world, starting when she was two and a half at a studio in Minneapolis, MN and has been dancing for 20 years. After high school she attended the University of Minnesota and was a four-year member and captain of the national champion University of Minnesota Dance Team. During her time as a member on the highest ranked dance team in the nation, she was trained in technique, jazz, and pom and cheered on the sidelines of every University Football and Basketball game. Her time on the team also consisted of 7 national championship titles in the pom and jazz categories, and one USASF Dance World Pom title. In college, she majored in Elementary Education in hopes of becoming a Kindergarten teacher. Shortly after graduation, she auditioned for her favorite television show, So You Think You Can Dance on FOX and quickly realized that her time in the dance world was far from over. She began teaching, coaching, choreographing and mentoring dancers in the local area. Her love for dance, and passion for teaching is what made her thrive. She now coaches High School Dance Team, teaches, as well as travels the country offering master classes, and choreographing for multiple dance teams, studios and soloists.
