WELCOME TO DX VIRTUAL COMPETITION!


DX is excited to bring amazing performances directly to your home. Your favorite judges are on hand for a fun, virtual dance competition.

COST: $50/per entry (not per dancer) - All routines receive two (2) verbal video critiques and scores.

DEADLINE - Submit your home video or previously recorded competition routine from any event. Wear your costume or any dance wear. It’s up to you. Make sure you get your video uploaded by the registration deadline. Refer to your event below for date.

SPACE IS LIMITED. All dancers welcome to enter. Independents, studios, schools, colleges, all star and rec programs.All registration is first come, first served.

REMEMBER -The DX Virtual Competitions offer dancers an opportunity to compete against others they typically don’t see throughout the comp season. Let’s support each other during this difficult time.

MEET OUR AMAZING DX VIRTUAL JUDGING PANEL

Two judges will score and provide verbal critiques for all performances. Judges will rotate divisions per event. Register for all the virtual competitions to gain valuable feedback from many of these experts!

How To Register

STEP 1 - CREATE AN ACCOUNT HERE

  • Be sure to pick this link - it takes you to the virtual registration system.

  • Independents welcome.

STEP 2 - DANCERS ROSTER

  1. Add your dancer then hit the arrow on the top to move to the right column.

  2. Click NEXT or the #3

STEP 3 - ADD ROUTINE

  1. Click "Create New Routine"

  2. Give your routine a name (Song Title)

  3. Select the dancer from the list on the left

  4. Click the blue arrow on the top of Dancer Roster so it bumps it to the right column

  5. Choose the skill level and style

  6. Select the style. If this is a Daddy/Daughter routine, use "Daddy/Daughter" as your style selection.

  7. Click Add routine to registration on the bottom of the page

  8. You should see the routine show up

  9. Click NEXT or the #4

STEP 4 - VIDEO UPLOAD

  1. Upload your video (MP4 or MOV format)

  2. You can upload the video later. Make sure you get it in the system by event close date. Refunds will not be given to routines without a video in the system.)

  3. Click NEXT or hit the #5

STEP 5 - FINISH

  1. Remit payment for your routine(s).

  2. Hit SUBMIT to complete your registration.

  3. Your spot is secured/confirmed when you remit payment and your video is successfully uploaded.

  4. All fees paid are non-refundable.

COMPETITION DETAILS

  1. Entries can be recordings from ANY competition, convention, recital, studio or home.

  2. Any dancer or dance program/team may enter.

  3. Costumes are not required but may be worn if desired.

  4. Performances must be family friendly and age appropriate.

  5. Dancers may only occupy one spot in Overalls.

DADDY / DAUGHTER

We do offer a Daddy/Daughter (adult/kid) competition category.

  1. Add all dancers to your roster (including dad).

  2. Create your routine.

  3. Select “Daddy/Daughter” from the drop down style selection menu.

DANCE ABILITIES

Dancers with disabilities have an opportunity to perform against others as well.

  1. Add all dancers to your roster.

  2. Create your routine.

  3. Select “Special Needs” from the drop down style selection menu.

JUDGING & AWARDS

  1. All routines will be adjudicated by two professional judges.

  2. Each performance will receive judges’ video critiques & scores

CRITERIA (2 judges / 150 pt. possible)

  • Technique - 45 pt.

  • Execution & Choreography - 45 pt.

  • Projection & Overall Performance - 45 pt.

  • Age Appropriate Skill Level - 15 pt.

COST - $50 Per Entry / Not Per Person

DIVISIONS

DX offers six age categories: Birthday as of 12/31/22. The average age of all performers for groups. The oldest age for duets.

  1. MINI … 6 yr. & younger

  2. PETITE … 7 to 8 yr.

  3. JUNIOR … 9 to 11 yr.

  4. TEEN … 12 to 14 yr.

  5. SENIOR … 15 to 18 yr.

  6. ADULT … 19 yr. & older

All age categories will be split into three levels

  1. Novice ... 3 hr. or less or limited comp experience.

  2. Intermediate ... 3.5 to 5 hr. or moderate comp experience.

  3. Advanced ... 5.5 hr. or more or substantial comp experience.

Routines of any size may compete.

  1. SOLO … 1 person

  2. DUO/TRIO - 2-3 people

  3. SMALL GROUP … 4-9 people

  4. LARGE GROUP … 10-19 people

  5. LINE / PRODUCTION … 20+ people

Platinum Elite — 282+

Platinum — 272–281.9

High Gold — 262–271.9

Gold — 252–261.9

High Silver — 251.9 & below

 

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Platinum Elite — 284+

Platinum — 274–283.9

High Gold — 264–273.9

Gold — 254–263.9

High Silver — 253.9 & below

 

ADVANCED LEVEL

Platinum Elite — 286

Platinum — 276–285.9

High Gold — 266–275.9

Gold — 256–265.9
